The standalone Han Solo film will introduce a mysterious new character, and Variety reports that Phoebe Waller-Bridge from the Amazon series Fleabag will be playing this character, who is said to have a significant role in the story.
The site also reported that her role will involve a CGI-driven performance much like the characters Maz Kanata from The Force Awakens, and more recently, Alan Tudyk's K-2SO in Rogue One. So that means she'll most likely play an alien or droid character.
The Fleabag star will join Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson as Garris Shrike, and Emilia Clarke in an unknown lead role.
The untitled Han Solo film directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord will be released in theaters on May 25, 2018.
