Though we have known for a while that Emilia Clarke is in the upcoming Han Solo movie, details of the film have been kept so secretly that we don't even know the name of all the characters in it. It's just been revealed that Michael K. Williams' (The Wire) parts have been cut from the movie, and his interview with Vanity Fair may have just let slip the identity of Clarke's character.
During the interview, Williams had let it slip that his alien character had a "link between Han Solo and Emilia's character, Kira." Making Star Wars then gave an update on the quote, and says that the name was almost accurate, just with a slight mispell. Clarke's character name is Kura.
Of course, there have been no confirmations from Lucasfilm, but with the movie coming out May of 2018, we can trust promos for Han Solo to be released sometime later this year. Hopefully we'll get some reveals on Clarke's character then.
As for Kura, I'm guessing she's going to be a potential love interest for Han who ends up dying within the movie. I'm going to speculate that her character will actually be pretty close to that of Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia, and Han's relationship with Kura will form an explanation on why Han was so smitten by Leia in the original trilogy.
That's just my guess anyway.
Han Solo: A Star Wars Story comes out May 25, 2018.
