After getting a cliff-hanger from the last game and a long wait of over 12 years, fans will now get a first look at one of the most beloved games of all time. Valve finally released a new trailer for Half-Life: Alyx.
The trailer starts with Alyx in some sort of an abandoned laundry shop. She starts clearing the shelves, as she tries to hide from the creatures inside the place. Something suddenly appears in front of her and leaps just as the screen goes black.
The clip then shows multiple scenes of different locations, creatures, and people that Alyx will be trying to escape from.
"They've got dad," Alyx says. The clip then shows his father Eli on a TV screen, Alyx is warned that his father is in possession of essential information that enemies will try to find out and kill him once they successfully do so. His father's voice was then heard in the video, apologizing to Alyx because he thinks all that's happening is his fault because he never told his daughter about it.
That being said, the game is actually VR-exclusive. Half-Life: Alyx won't be coming to flat-screens since it is designed for virtual reality. Players are able to sit or stand with different VR movement styles while playing the game.
Valve's system requirements listing shows that one needs a Windows 10 computer with a Core i5-7500 or Ryzen 5 1600. A graphics card of GTX 1060 or RX 580, and 12GB of RAM. The game will be compatible with all PC-based VR headsets.
The user will be playing as Alyx in the game and will be trying to mount the resistance to fight the alien race called Combine that took occupation of the Earth. The game is set between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2.
Half-Life: Alyx is now available for pre-order and is set to come out on Steam sometime around March of 2020.
