Guess Who Lent a Hand in the Star Wars: The Last Jedi Script

There's a lot of mystery and speculation surrounding Star Wars: The Last Jedi—perhaps even more so now that the first trailer has been released at the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando.

But in the midst of all those happenings and mysteries, it seems that there was one person who had a hand in it that no one knew about until now.

Revealing at the event through Screen Rant, director Rian Johnson shared that actress Carrie Fisher has been a force to the franchise in more ways than one. During the tribute at the Celebration, fans got to see an image of Fisher on the set working with the other actors in the film.

Apart from praising her talent in the movie in terms of performance, he recalls that Fisher had a great hand in the script, especially when it came to going through the script of the latest movie.

"It was such a moving tribute yesterday, I don't know if I can add to that. love her so much, I just adore her. I connected with her first and foremost as a writer. She's a brilliant writer, with an incredible mind. I'd go to her house and we'd sit on her bed for hours, going through the script."

Probably because of Fisher's natural wit, but after hours of work, they would end up with an incredibly brilliant distilled output:

"And then at the end of six hours, there would be this four-word line of dialogue that would be the distillation of all that, that was brilliant."

It seems that the spirit of the galaxy's beloved Princess General will live on as we see Star Wars: The Last Jedi in theaters coming this Christmas season.

Directed by Rian Johnson, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to release in theaters on December 15, 2017. The film also features returning stars John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Peter Mayhew, Andy Serkis, Anthony Daniels, Lupita Nyong'o Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher. Benicio Del Toro, and Kelly Marie Tran and Laura Dern make their Star Wars debut in this film.
