Logan is the highest grossing film in 2017 so far, and it's widely-praised by critics with many saying that it's definitely one of the best superhero films we've seen in recent years. Even our movie reviewer Dave Gigg praised it in his review for being "bloody awesome!" Anyone can share their opinions online about the film, but if it's coming from one of Marvel's best directors, you know that it's got more weight than your average critic.

Guardians of the Galaxy writer/director James Gunn took it to Twitter to praise the film and thank director James Mangold for giving him a great moviegoing experience. Gunn tweeted that he "aboslutely loved" Logan and thanks Mangold for "giving me the best time I had at a theater in a long, long time."

With the stellar performance from Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, and Dafne Keen, I'm not surprised that Gunn enjoyed the film but it's not everyday you see a director like Gunn share his praise to a superhero film he's not directing.

James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5.
