Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s Ego The Living Planet Gets Its First Look Image

One of the main points of interest in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is Star Lord's (Chris Pratt) parentage. In the original Guardians of the Galaxy, it was Peter's alien heritage that had helped him hold the Infinity Stone so long and now fans are eager to get a look at the dancing outlaw's father in the film's sequel.

Now, as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 draws closer to its release, new reports reveal the first look at the human form of Star Lord's father through a new Guardians of the Galaxy figure by Funko Pop. While Quill's father, Ego The Living Planet is supposed to be a giant planet with a face, the figure shows the human embodiment of the character.

Played by Kurt Russel in the movie, Ego the Living Planet is expected to have a more social focus in Guardians of the GalaxyVol.2 with the film zooming on the relationship between Ego and Quill. So while fans may have wanted to see a giant planet for the Funko Pop figure, it would have probably made more sense to have the personified form of Ego instead.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 premieres on the big screen on May 5, 2017.
