Guardians of the Galaxy Paves Way to Disneyland Resort Marvel Attractions

California is about to face with the Space misfits of the Marvel universe. Going beyond the movie franchise, where the well-known names and faces of heroes like Captain America, Iron Man, and The Hulk have made their mark, now the Avengers franchise is going into Disney Parks territory.

Following Hong Kong Disneyland's Iron Man Experience, California will now see the addition of Guardians of the Galaxy as a repurposed attraction. In a report from USA Today, what will be repurposed is the long0time Tower of Terror, which has attracted a lot of park goers as well.

In its place will be an intergalactic attraction that will have randomized drop sequences that have been put side-by-side with the track list for Star-Lord's tunes and a challenge to free the Guardians against the Collector. The Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is not the only thing coming, as there will be a Guardians-themed part, meet and greets, and even a time-limited Summer of Heroes, which is an exciting initiative to get visitors up to speed with the training in the movies via Avengers Training Initiative.

While the ride look very interesting, it looks like not everyone prefers a teardown of a favorite Tower of Terror. Sadly, Disney Resort in California is much smaller than the one in Florida. This limits new rides to repurposes instead of actual land expansions.

"Sometimes that means we need to take something great and, quite frankly, make it greater. We believe that [the Guardians ride] gives us an anchor for a much larger superhero presence inside Disney California Adventure."

There's a lot to look forward to the Marvel universe, and if there are no other objections, California's Disney Resort might just get a little more superhero-y.
