Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Will Set Up The Next Decade Of Marvel Movies

With Infinity War being the culmination of all the Marvel movies since 2008's Iron Man, you'd think that everything Marvel studios has built will end there. Guess again, because we're getting Marvel Phase 4, and James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the movie to set everything up.

In an interview with THR, Marvel head Kevin Feige explains:

"I think James in particular has an amazing connection with these characters and with this cosmic world. So he, I think, could easily oversee additional stories beyond Vol. 3. And I think has them and just continues to come up with them, which is cool. All of our core writers and filmmakers know what we are doing in other places and help give input on the various projects."

I just can't imagine how Marvel plans to move forward after Infinity War, but I guess that's what makes the future more exciting. I'm imagining that we'll get a whole new slate of Avengers this time around, maybe with Falcon or Winter Soldier taking up the Captain America mantle; or a Civil War movie that's closer to the comic.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 isn't even out yet, and I'm already excited to see what happens in Vol. 3! The Guardians of the Galaxy return to theaters on May 5.
