Gotham Season 3 Will See Bruce’s Batman Skills and Hints of Jerome’s Return

In a few days, the new season for Gothamwill let the bad guys loose on the city. If that kind of mayhem isn't enough, the third season will also see two particular developments that will lay the groundwork for future plot lines.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Gotham Executive Producer Ken Woodruff suggested that Bruce Wayne (played by David Mazouz) may be taking baby steps towards donning the cape and cowl.

"We're not quite getting to the point of Batman, but we're really focusing on trying to get to see different sides of Bruce Wayne and to lay the foundation for all those Batman things. This year, we're going to show what the gains from that experience were—learning how to pick locks, break into things, be silent like a bat."

It seems that Bruce will be picking up more than the possibility of future romance with future Catwoman Selina Kyle. Their time together looks like it will be used to fuel the progress of Batman's characterization.

As far as picking up story lines go, there's another character that has teased his return to Gotham. Cameron Monaghan, who played Joker proto-vision Jerome, teased via Instagram his distinct laugh from last season—one that we all know is Joker's laugh.

Gotham creators have already teased that Jerome will be back, though it was never confirmed when, where, and what part of the season or the series we can expect his return.

From the teaser, it looks like Monaghan is also excited for the prospect.

Gotham will be back on Fox on Sept. 16, Monday, for season 3.
