God-Eternal Kefnet & Gideon, The Oathsworn From War of The Spark Revealed

Wizards of the Coast

The hype for Magic: The Gathering's upcoming set War of the Spark continues with the revelation of another Amonkhet god in God-Eternal form and another Planeswalker.

The four eternalized gods of Amonkhet are back. We've already seen the new Bontu and the God-Eternal Rhonas cards, and now, it's the blue god: God-Eternal Kefnet. Check it out:

His ability pretty much gives your Sorceries and Instants a Miracle-like effect but it's not great with counterspells so this card belongs more in tempo decks more than control. I can see this card as a playable creature for Izzet tempo decks. The first Kefnet card didn't see much play in Standard back in Amonkhet days but this one will probably see more. Just like the other gods of War of the Spark, this time they get back to your deck every time they die or get exiled instead of having indestructibility.

Another Planeswalker has been revealed but this one is from the War of the Spark Planeswalker deck, the Magic product designed to get new players in the game. It's called Gideon, The Oathsworn.

Just like other Planeswalkers from Planeswalkers deck, this one is not that great but it'll probably be playable in Brawl.

War of the Spark will be released on May 3, 2019. Prerelease events will take place on April 27-28.
