Gintama TV Anime Confirmed, More Announcements Coming

The troll hath hinted, and the troll hath delivered.

Leave it to Hideaki Sorachi-sensei and Bandai Namco Pictures to make everyone's day a lot better. The latest issue of Japanese magazine Weekly Shonen Jump has teased that Gintama the TV anime is coming back, Anime News Network reported.

Then again, this shouldn't really come as too much of a surprise, considering the earlier tease of an "ultra-surprising" announcement for the Gintama franchise. For those who are still a little bit skeptical, here's a confirmation, care of @YonkouProductions:

Granted, they said that it will come after the live-action film. Perhaps that meant the premiere of the anime will be after the movie? No one's complaining if that's the case. A few more months of waiting is worth seeing the continuing arc animated.

Now, we've seen Gintama' and Gintama°. I wonder how the next logo will be. Maybe a Gintama", to complete the mix?

In the meantime, let's all anticipate the upcoming details, which hopefully will detail the arcs that will be animated (Kagura's boyfriend, anyone?) as well as the air date.

For those who can't wait for that can look forward to the Gintama live-action film, which stars Shun Oguri, Masaki Suda, and Kanna Hashimoto as the Yorozuya trio. The movie is directed by Yuichi Fukuda and will be out sometime in 2017.
