Sony revealed the first gameplay footage of the upcoming samurai action game Ghost of Tsushima at their E3 2018 conference. The game was first announced at last year's Paris Games Week, and now you can check out its action-packed spectacle of swords and arrows.

Beginning with the text insert saying "Mongol invasion, day nine," samurai Jin Sakai walks through grasslands with a war going on off the horizon. Its story is set in 1274 and it seems to depict the Mongol invasion of the Tsushima island.

When he runs into three swordsmen, where we see our first look at the combat with a tense conflict between Jin and the lead enemy warrior. Jin's moves look badass. He's a pioneer of a fighting technique, "the way of the Ghost."

Jin teams up with Mako before going to a ruined temple, and they have to stealth their way in. At the final scene, Masako turns against Jin and they have a beautiful swordfight against the sunset. Their moves are graceful and intense. Jin clearly wins the fight but he doesn't kill her. They settle their difference and remember their common enemy: the horde of Mongol soldiers approaching them.

Sony hasn't announced a released date for the PlayStation 4 exclusive yet.
