Ghost in the Shell Themesong Gets Steve Aoki Remix Video With New Footage

Fans of the cyberpunk anime film series Ghost in the Shell are going to get Paramount Pictures' contentious live-action adaptation of the popular media franchise in less than a month's time, and the studio's been busy building up buzz for the film. One of the new promotional material that Paramount's recently released is a new remix of the original Ghost in the Shell anime's themesong.

Remixed by American electro house musician and record producer Steve Aoki, the audio retains the gripping chants of the original themesong. Posting the video on his Facebook page, Aoki shares with fans how much the original 1995 Ghost in the Shell anime filminfluenced him as an artist.

Check out the video and Aoki's message down here:

"This is a big day for me. Especially for teenage youth me when I first watched the anime Ghost In The Shell that planted the seeds for my imagination and obsession for Sci fi android life AI singularity and later the blueprints towards my Neon Future ideology. So yes this is a big day and a proud moment to team up with GITS to produce the official remix to Utai IV - "Reawakening" and have it scored in the commercial. Big shout out to the director of the film Rupert Sanders & Jason Richmond from Paramount Pictures for believing in me. Let me know what u think of my remix. I hope I did it justice. #ghostintheshell #steveaokiremix Ghost In The Shell P.S. Scarlett is such a badass"

Mixed right in with clips taken from the upcoming film, Aoki's Ghost in the Shell themesong remix fits right in with the gunshots and fight sequences of the film. However, though it does give the themesong a modern vibe to it, the remix doesn't have the same tranquil eeriness s of the original themesong. But that's just me.

Ghost in the Shell debuts on the big screen on March 31, 2017.
