Production for the second season of The Witcher has already begun which means fans would start to get some sneak peeks, teases, and BTS photos and clips from the set. The first one of the bunch is an image from Henry Cavill which shows his character, Geralt of Rivia, reunite with his best friend.
Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a photo of himself as well as the adorable horse. He introduced Geralt's confidant to the fans, revealing that Roach's real name is Zeus. "Look who I found!" the actor wrote. He then joked about how Zeus deserves an Oscar for the best supporting horse. You can check it out below.
As fans may very well know, Roach plays an important part in Geralt's life as well as in the series. She is the witcher's companion through all of his crazy adventures and monster hunts and the one who listens to Geralt with regards to his deep thoughts and dilemmas. The horse is one of the few he trusts, which is why Geralt is very protective of her.
Roach also serves as his access to the humanity because horses don't live that long. Since Geralt is a hundred years old, he has had many horses throughout his life, but he always names them Roach.
We'd be seeing more of the pair in the second season and sure enough, Roach would be accompanying Geralt to his adventures, along with Jaskier and Yennefer, and also getting to know Ciri.
The Witcher Season 2 is set for release in 2021 on Netflix.
