George R. R. Martin is Working on Ice Dragon Movie That Has Nothing To Do With Game of Thrones

While a lot of Game of Thrones fans are disappointed that George R.R. Martin's next A Song of Ice and Fire book Winds of Winter hasn't been released yet, the fantasy author is moving ahead with a new animated film based on his non-Game of Thrones books but at least, it has a dragon.

As Deadline reports, Warner Bros. is producing an animated adaptation of George R.R. Martin's novella for children, The Ice Dragon. The novella is about a young girl who befriends a mysterious dragon who, unlike typical dragons, has a magical power of ice. Right now, Martin is attached to produce the Ice Dragon film, but according to Hollywood Reporter, he may end up writing the script as well.

At this point, I've lost interest in reading Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. We'll most likely see the end of the HBO's Game of Thrones before Winds of Winter hits shelves. It's good to know that Martin's other book is getting a movie adaptation though.
