Genshin Impact Reels in $100M Under 2 Weeks of Release

It has been more than two weeks since the release of Genshin Impact but there is little doubt that the free-to-play action role-playing game is already dominating the world of gaming. It has been revealed that the miHoYo title raked in over $100 million within a fortnight of its release.

The update comes from industry analyst Daniel Ahmad, who had previously predicted that Genshin Impact would bring in about "$50m rev. in its first week across all platforms" and "20m pre-registrations prior to launch." In a more recent tweet, Ahmad confirmed that the game has exceeded expectations.

"According to data from Sensor Tower, the game was the #2 highest-grossing game globally on iOS in its first week. According to data from App Annie the game was downloaded more than 23 million times on iOS / Android in its first week," Ahmad wrote. "Will break RMB 1 billion mark soon."

This is certainly impressive, especially for a free-to-play game. As KitGuru reports, Genshin Impact has already been downloaded at least 5 million times on the Google Play Store. That's not yet counting the download figures for Genshin Impact on iOS, PS4, and PC. On the other hand, it is currently "estimated to have reached 23 million across iOS and Android."

Genshin Impact is set to get its first update in November and another one is expected in December. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
