Game of Thrones Season 7 Hints at Blood Fights

The impending winter and its Walkers have been a big threat in the background. But when Game of Thrones returns for its seventh season, there may be a nearer threat to our favorite characters—and it's dictated by blood.

In an interview with Foxtel Magazine, three of the hopefuls for the Iron Throne dish out on their thoughts on each character's future. And from the looks of it, the war will start within those who share roughly the same blood.

The two main candidates, Jon Snow and Dany Targaryen, will certainly vie for the throne, but each will still have their own fears. For starters, actor Kit Harington shared that he's now fearing how things will turn out for this new season.

"I felt safe in season six because I thought it would be bad storytelling to kill me the season after I'd resurrected. As for seasons beyond, it's back to business. And he is in mortal danger like everyone else."

Martin has been known to kill our most favorite characters ones we've already invested in them, and we've pretty much invested in them since the first season. For Snow's supposed aunt Dany, she's now become one of the powerful women in Game of Thrones, that her army's pretty much the talk of Westeros, so we know she won't give up a good fight.

Then there's Sansa, who's grown from a Joffrey-adoring damsel into a warrior in her own right. And now, she's not just content with being a sidekick to Jon.

"There's a jealousy there. She feels she deserves the title of Queen in the North and it's an injustice that she hasn't been recognized for what she did. Not only are the Northerners in general not backing her, but neither is Jon… All she wants is the respect of her brother."

And rightly so, considering how Sansa's army had helped Jon overcome Ramsey's assault. I wouldn't mind seeing Sansa break out from her timid shell and don her own armor to battle. Whatever the case may be, it looks like a little family sit-down talk is necessary before the Stark and Targaryen clan unite to become an even greater force.

Game of Thrones will be back on HBO on July 16.
