Winter might have already arrived in the seventh season of Game of Thrones however it seems like the fantasy epic's still going to make time for romance, and that includes the budding relationship between Jacob Anderson's Grey Worm and Nathalie Emmanuel's Missandei.
Speaking in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Emmanuel discussed Missandei's development in the seventh season of the popular fantasy series, noting that the Daenerys Targaryen's (Emilia Clarke) advisor and handmaiden will be confronting her emotions together with Grey Worm.
"These two have always hidden behind their duty. But times like this where it's not guaranteed they will even see each other again, where he might be killed and she might be … who knows … they're having to confront their emotions and feelings to each other."
"It's the same thing every season: I don't think [showruners David Benioff and Dan Weiss] can outdo themselves, and then they do. And the role that Missandei has been playing becomes ever more important because they're facing war and potential death. Distractions aren't really welcome, though Missandei has a few of her own."
This is good news for fans who've been waiting for Missandei and Grey Worm to get together. The two have so much tension going between them and viewers have been waiting for a pay-off since forever.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO with its seventh season on July 16.
