Game of Thrones has been hiring some interesting new actors for its sixth season. We recently reported that a Harry Potter star is joining the cast, and now, Variety reports that Swazi-born English actor Richard E. Grant is joining the cast as well. We still don't know any details about his character. He best's known for playing the titular character in the 1987 film Withnail & I. The news was first reported at Watchers on the Wall, and has been confirmed by Entertainment Weekly.
Grant's other credits include Doctor Who, Downton Abbey, and Girls.
While HBO has been keeping Grant's role under wraps, that hasn't stopped fans from speculating that he'd play Randyll Tarly, father of Samwell Tarly and the recently cast Dickon Tarly and a military mastermind. Some say that he's been cast to play Howland Reed, Ned Stark's old friend and the last survivor of the Tower of Joy.
Game of Thrones will return for Season 6 on HBO in Spring 2016.
