Game Of Thrones 8: Meera Reed Not Making A Return?

Meera Reed had been a big part of Bran Stark's arc ever since she was introduced to us in Game of Thrones Season 3, and the last season saw Bran unceremoniously dismissing her from his side. With the last season of GoT planned for a release in 2019, Meera actor Ellie Kendrick talks about the possibility of her appearing in Season 8.

Talking to Metro, Kendrick says she hasn't been called to work for the last season at all:

"Not as far as I know. I don't know. It's funny because I always get asked, ‘What's going to happen? Are you in it?' Genuinely the truth is I don't know."

I wait for the phone to ring and then I find out, but it hasn't rung so I don't know. I'll find out whether I am or not at some point, but for now I haven't been notified so I'm yet to discover."

Sure Meera didn't teach Bran anything about being a warg, but she has undoubtedly made a lot of sacrifices for House Stark, even more than Bran if you think about it. Meera had to watch her brother die for Bran, and after Hodor died, she had to haul his ass back to the Wall (all the while, Bran was probably warging into random animals which didn't help push his body). That's why it felt so unfair when Bran dismissed her as if she hadn't made a huge impact on his life.

With so much time till the release of the last season, I hope the showrunners give us an end to Meera's arc. The last we saw of Meera was her leaving back for her home at Greywater Watch. Let's hope she gets a proper ending—possibly with Bran giving her the thanks she deserves.

Game of Thrones 8 will most likely come out in 2019.
