Here we go again. The heavily troubled Gambit film has a new filming date but it still doesn't have a director. Granted, there looks to be an announcement regarding that matter coming soon, but that doesn't mean fans should get their hopes up. Lord knows why Channing Tatum's still attached to the project.
According to Omega Underground, the film's new production date is reportedly June 19. The plan is to film in New Orleans, which makes sense since that is where the character comes from.
Stage work for the film will reportedly take place in Big Easy Studios, where Logan was also shot. With all this in mind, it does seem like the studio has a director in mind. Whether that director will stay on this time is hard to say.
Gore Verbinski was the last director attached to the project and everyone was hoping he would stay on. Admittedly, fans were hoping all of the previous directors would stay too but that wasn't the case.
Gambit is still hoping to come out on June 7, 2019.
