French Artist Accuses Solo: A Star Wars Story of Plagiarizing His Work

We still don't have an official movie poster for Solo: A Star Wars Story, but we do have some character posters featuring main characters Han, Chewie, Lando, and Qi'Ra. As it turns out, a French artist by the name of Hachim Bahous is now accusing the movie of plagiarism as the character posters look strikingly similar to ones that he made.

Check it out:

Here's his message translated (via BleedingCool):

Left the official posters of the next Star Wars (Disney), right the compiles for which I made the creation in 2015 for Sony Music France / Legacy Recordings France following the brief of the project leader Romain 'Rpiz' Pizon.

I am flattered that the quality of my work is recognized, but it is still pure and simple forgery, I have not been asked for my permission, I wish to be credited and paid for this work I have done for Sony!

A thought for everyone who worked hard on this very beautiful project: Dj Reverend P (Patrice Larrar), Richard Lecocq, Aurélien Orel, David Hachour, Yazid Manou and Yazid Manou So Romain 'Rpiz' Pizon.

We still have no confirmation or admission from anyone in Lucasfilm about the posters being copied, but the side-by-side comparison seems like a dead ringer. Hopefully things will come to light, and Bahous will get his justice. For now, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is set to come out May 25.
