Frank Grillo Teases Possible Crossbones Comeback After Captain America: Civil War

Crossbones played quite the villain in Captain America Civil War—and in the actual 2006 comic that led to our hero's demise. Having played a key role in the movie and supposedly even met his maker, it seems that actor Frank Grillo is not yet done playing the role of the badass villain.

Speaking with ABC News, Grillo let slip a possible on-the-sly response to what could be a sneak peek of the next Captain America film.

"You think he dies, don't you? Did you see the body?" he said with a supposedly teasing smile.

Comebacks are common, especially in superhero movies. After all, the more direct and expected return of Superman following his supposed demise at the hands of Doomsday in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice shows the very essence of the word "comeback."

While in the case of Crossbones, all you see is an explosion that should have blasted him to smithereens. True, there is no body, but as the source pointed out, Crossbones did survive a collapsing building in the first movie.

It would be great if there is a chance that a more expanded role for Crossbones is in the next script. Considering how he does play a more major role in the comic counterpart, he could play the pivotal role for the final leg of Captain America's standalone movies.

And since I loved every bit of Captain America: Civil War from start to end, I think a Crossbones comeback is justified. Maybe we'll see a real body in Avengers: Infinity War, and then we can rest assured.
