Fox Removed Disney Joke in Deadpool 2

The final Deadpool 2 trailer showed Ryan Reynolds poking fun at the DC Universe, Thanos, and a bunch of other things, but there's one joke that 20th Century Fox made Reynolds cut.

Speaking to EW, Reynolds revealed that the studio made him cut a Disney joke in the highly-anticipated sequel: "This is a sore spot for me because there's a joke in the movie that is not in the movie now because — I'm probably not even allowed to say this — Fox made me take it out," Reynolds revealed. "It had more to do with Disney, and they made me take it out. As I look back at it, I think maybe that was a wise decision."

It's probably a jab against Disney, but since Disney is set to acquire 20th Century Fox, the studio is wise enough to know that it would probably be in bad taste to include a Disney joke in the film even if it's just meant to poke fun at the company.

We still don't know how Disney will approach superhero films from Fox but Reynolds recently shared his thoughts about that.

"I really genuinely don't know a thing about it," Reynolds says. "I read that [CEO and chairman] Bob Iger felt that there's plenty of room in that universe to have a rated-R character like Deadpool. This is completely conjecture on my part, but I wouldn't imagine that Disney bought Fox to dismantle it or something like that. I think that Disney bought Fox so it could have that in its arsenal."

Hopefully, the digital copy of Deadpool 2 will reveal the deleted Disney joke but for now, let's just be thankful that Disney will soon acquire 20th Century Fox.
