Back in June, it was revealed that Forest Whitaker's role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is an old character from the animated world of Star Wars: Clone Wars. Now, the official Star WarsTwitter page released a new character profile for Gerrera, revealing that the group of rebels will be recruiting him on the planet named Jedah.

The card includes details about his origins:
"A veteran of the Clone Wars and the rebellion against the Empire, Saw leads Rebel extremists on the ancient world of Jedha. He's lost much in decades of combat, but occasional flashes of the caring man he once was shine through his calloused exterior. Saw's ailing health has not withered his resolve to fight."
George Lucas actually created Gerrera, and was meant to be a main character in a live-action Star Wars TV show. Dave Filoni then brought Gerrera to Clone Wars.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will hit theaters on December 16, 2016.
