While everyone is talking about Avengers: Infinity War, fans are also hoping that Marvel Studios is planning the debut of the X-Men, especially with rumors about Dark Phoenix being the last film from 20th Century Fox. As fans patiently wait for mutants to appear in the MCU, Fleer and Upper Deck have decided to bait fans with some nostalgic X-goodness.
Upper Deck is bringing back the Fleer Ultra line for a new set of X-Men trading cards. These were a huge deal in the 90's, with pretty much every Marvel character having a card with some awesome art in it. Marvel even used some of these trading cards as variant covers not too long ago, though they only used Jim Lee's art.
Speaking of the 90's, these X-Men cards will indeed be based on that era of Marvel's merry band of mutants. Artists David Nakayama and Meghan Hetrick showed off some of the new 90's-inspired art we can expect from the line, showing off Wolverine and Onslaught respectively. Wolverine will always look great in his blue and yellow garb, while Onslaught will always look cool no matter what.
The Fleer Ultra X-Men line of trading cards will be available this July.
