Flashpoint: Jeffrey Dean Morgan Unsure of His Batman Future After Zack Snyder's Exit

The future of Warner Bros. Flashpoint movie is currently unknown, with reports saying that the film will no longer fix errors within the DC film-verse ala X-Men: Days of Future Past but will be an origin story instead. Some have even claimed that the movie would have been Ben Affleck's last as Batman but his DC future is more uncertain than the weather.

One actor who's not confident in reappearing again is Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played as Thomas Wayne in the opening of Batman V Superman. While most casual audiences felt that would be the end of his story, comic book fans were hoping to see him as Flashpoint Batman, an alternate universe version of the character that has Thomas Wayne take up the mantle after Bruce is the one shot and killed in Crime Alley.

Speaking with MTV, Morgan says that his DC future is unsure now that Zack Snyder has left. The Walking Dead actors felt like Snyder would have had a plan for him so now he can't say for certain if he will ever portray that version of Batman. He is hoping that DC is interested but Morgan isn't getting his hopes up.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Zack Snyder have worked together before, most notably in the fairly underrated Watchmen movie. It would be fun to see him as this darker version of Batman and we can only hope he gets to portray the character one day.

Flashpoint has no release date, though the directors are hoping for a 2020 release. In the meantime, fans can check out Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox if they want a really faithful adaptation of the original mini-series.
