We've seen a few glimpses of Hideki Anno and Shinji Higuchi's Shin Godzilla (aka Godzilla Resurgence), but now we got our first trailer for the movie, and it shows us a badass look at the King of Monsters. This looks like the largest scariest-looking incarnation of Godzilla ever showed on screen. The trailer doesn't offer any story details, just some shots of worried Japanese officials, screaming civilians, and orchestral music. Watch the trailer:
Despite the number of fires shot, Godzilla looks unphased here, in an epic kind of way. The western Godzilla reboot was acceptable, and there's a sequel on the way, but this first TOHO-made Godzilla film in over a decade looks intriguing.
Shin Godzilla is set to be release in Japanese theaters this summer, and to western theaters later this year.
