First Reactions to ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ Are In, and They’re Just What You Expected


The preview screening of the stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child took place in London yesterday, and reactions on social media have poured in. The verdict? The play is good, like extremely good.

A few very lucky Potterheads who were able to attend the preview got to see (finally) what happened to Harry, Ron, Hermione, and the rest of the principal characters in the events 19 years after The Deathly Hallows.

Thankfully, the viewers' first reactions on Twitter and Instagram are spoiler-free, faithfully following the request of author J.K. Rowling to "keep the secrets".

For those who can't attend the play, you can carry a piece of Harry Potter and the Cursed Childsince the script will be printed in book for with books Parts I & II , to be released on July 31, which is Harry's birthday.

The London debut of the play is set for July 30.

The principal characters of the play – the Potters, the Granger-Weasleys, and the Malfoys – were previewed over the past week via Pottermore.
