First Official Images of Maz Kanata and Supreme Leader Snoke from The Force Awakens Released

We now have three still images of Maz Kanata and Supreme Leader Snoke from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Previously, the only available official images of the characters were motion capture pictures of Lupita Nyong'o and Andy Serkis. You can view the newly released pictures below:

We still haven't seen Supreme Leader Snoke in person yet, as these pictures only reveal his hologram appearance when he communicates with Kylo Ren and General Hux. Below are the previously released motion capture pictures of each of the respective actors:

Much has yet to be revealed about both of these characters. The movie never showed the fate of Maz after the destruction of her long established "watering hole". Supreme Leader Snoke will definitely see an increased presence for Episode VIII as the character develops alongside Kylo Ren. While Andy Serkis is a genius at motion capture characters, there wasn't quite enough screen time to truly appreciate his contribution to the franchise yet.

It's good to see Lucasfilm and Disney release some official pictures for these characters. Even Andy Serkis made comments earlier in filming that the secrecy in this film was greater than any of his prior roles to date.
