The Powerpuff Girls reboot will come with the revival of other ‘90s and ‘00s favorites including Fuller House and Gilmore Girls. The Emmy Award-winning Powerpuff Girls ran for a strong 7 years (1998 to 2005) and has since launched video games and its own feature film.

ThePowerpuff Girls sneak peek shows the unwavering girl-power angst that many ‘90s kids have come to adore. The video, titled I Am Not A Princess, shows Buttercup have not changed in the slightest after taking offense at a plaid-wearing villain for being called “princess.”

In the reboot, the three lead heroes, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, will be voiced by Amanda Leighton, Kristen Li, and Natalie Palamides, respectively. Fortunately, Tom Kenny will be reprising his role as the voice of the Narrator and the Mayor of Townsville.

Personally, it’s a bit awkward hearing a different Buttercup voice after having watched the cartoon as a child. Nevertheless, I’m expecting nothing but girl-power action and heart from the girls that started sugar, spice, and everything nice.

The Powerpuff Girls will debut on Cartoon Network this spring.
