Last year it was announced that The Simpsons creator Matt Groening was working with Netflix to make an animated fantasy show, and now Variety gives us a first look at Disenchantment.

The show is said to take place in the fantasy world of Dreamland, and we follow the adventures of Princess Bean (Abbi Jacobson), Elfo the elf (Nat Faxon), and Luci the demon (Eric Andre). We'll also be getting other voice talents in the show like John DiMaggio, Billy West, David Herman, and Maurice LeMarche—all veterans to Groening's other show.
The first ten episodes of Disenchantment are said to release on Netflix Aug. 17, though Netflix did order the show for twenty. I guess ten episodes is a good enough number to assess whether Disenchantment will be another hit for Groening or not.
Matt Groening has always found success with the shows that he's developed, what with The Simpsons and Futurama becoming staples in pop-culture. We don't know where Disenchantment will fall in his legacy, but I'm sure everyone who loves television will be willing to give it a try.
