First Look At Daisy Ridley And Tom Holland In Chaos Walking

Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland are the leads in two of Hollywood's biggest franchises, and the two stars are coming together for the adaptation of Patrick Ness' YA novel, Chaos Walking. It was reported back in July that the two would be starring together, and now we have a first image of Ridley and Holland on set.

The movie is directed by Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow), and before you scoff at the YA genre, the screenplay is being adapted by Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind's Charlie Kaufman as well as Jamie Linden (Money Monster).

Here's the movie synopsis:

The Carnegie Medal winning books are set in a dystopian future with humans colonizing a distant earth-like planet. When an infection called the Noise suddenly makes all thought audible, privacy vanishes in an instant. In the ensuing chaos, a corrupt autocrat threatens to take control of the human settlements and wage war with the indigenous alien race, and only young Todd Hewitt holds the key to stopping planet wide-destruction.

The premise actually sound pretty interesting, and I can't wait to see more of the world as the year trudges on. Looking at Ridley's costume, I can't help but notice an inspiration from The Fifth Element's Leeloo, and Holland just seems to be taking Hollywood by storm what with all these roles he's getting attached to (he's also playing young Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie).

Chaos Walking is slated for a release on March 1, 2019.
