The first image of Star-Lord's dad has finally come to light, thanks to Funko which released photos of its first two toys based on the characters of the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Ego, the father of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), is actually a living breathing intelligent planet. But he can incarnate into human form in order to interact with the smaller species inhabiting the universe. While it has long been confirmed that Kurt Russell will play Ego, Funko shows how the character will appear in the film.

Here is the pic first published in Cosmic Book News:

The sixtysomething Russell still looks like he can take on an army of super villains as he appears through this toy. Chris Pratt might also pick up a few lessons from the veteran actor who starred in popular science-fiction films, playng unforgettable characters like the machine-like Soldier, the space colonel in Stargate, and the ruthless mercenary Snake Plissken in Escape from New York.

While early reports say that the movie will give each Guardian his moment to shine, there's no denying that an ornery father-son reunion - especially between the quip-making Pratt and the charming Russell - just might steal the show.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, directed by James Gunn, will be out on theaters on May 5, 2017. Check out the trailer below.
