Justin Kurzel's Assassin's Creed movie sees Michael Fassbender playing two roles: Callum Lynch and his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha, and for Callum to access the memories of Aguilar, he would need to use the high-tech Animus. 20th Century Fox has released the first clip from the film, and it shows Callum being hooked into the Animus, which reminds me of The Matrix and the pensieve from Harry Potter combined. Check out the clip below:
A new TV spot has also been released, featuring new footage from the film:
Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
Assassin's Creed also stars Jeremy Irons, Marion Cotillard, Brendan Gleeson, and Michael K. Williams. It will hit theaters on December 21, 2016.
