Finn Wakes Up in The New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Teaser

We're only a few weeks away from the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and the storm of marketing for the next episode grows stronger every day. The latest TV spot is called "Heroes", and it shows Finn (John Boyega) awakening in some sort of medical pod after being in a coma at the end of The Force Awakens. It looks like he's trying to catch-up with what's happening between the Resistance and the First Order.

Watch the teaser:

We see Finn asks Poe (Oscar Isaac), "Where's Rey?" Based on what we've seen from the trailer footage so far, it looks like Finn will have an adventure with Rose (Kelly Marie Tran) before he reunites with Rey. He'll eventually fight Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), and a recent TV spot showed that he has a purpose to fight against the First Order.

Boyega recently talked about Finn's role in the story while speaking to SciFi Magazine (via ScreenRant):

"You've got your foundation for the character. Now you're moving onto the next project and you're trying to, you know, make more of the character. You can't make more of someone you don't really know. And so for me the fear that I did have going into VIII was that I hope that we get more of a sense of where [Finn] belongs… The story for him in this movie is him making that decision himself as to where he will belong, where he wants to identify himself. And I think that's very important. Finn is now a known kind of space terrorist. They see him as a rogue. So that causes a lot of tension. He can't just go through space the way he used to."

It sounds like Finn will have a more badass role in the Rian Johnson-directed sequel. He looks angrier in the trailers.
