After the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, rumors started popping up that John Boyega's Stormtrooper-turned-Rebel-fighter and Oscar Isaac's ace Rebel pilot Poe actually had the hots for each other in the film and many fans have become eager to see the Star Wars franchise's first gay romance blossom in the new sequel trilogy.
Though Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson had previously been retweeting fan pictures of Poe and Finn in love, new reports indicate that separate missions may be keeping the two apart from each other in The Force Awakens sequel.
According to Express, Finn will be too busy working with Kelly Marie Tran's character in an undercover Rebel mission to meet up with Poe to advance their relationship. Rumors that Tran's character and Finn would be meeting up together in some bar has been going around for some time, however new details have been added indicating that the two would be setting explosives for a dangerous mission.
Finn is also rumored to come across Tom Hardy in a Star Wars cameo where the action star's character touches the Rebel disguised as a First Order officer in a cheeky way to congratulate him for his Imperial promotion. Too bad the Finn won't get to be touched by Poe who is reportedly being sent on a separate assignment to search out the character of Laura Dern. It looks like the Poe-Finn love may have to wait.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres on the big screen on Dec. 15 this year.
