"If the Empire has this kind of power, what chance do we have?"
"We have hope. Rebellion is built on hope."
The final trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been released on Thursday morning, giving us a new look at Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and the band of Resistance fighters on a dangerous mission to steal plans for the Empire's Death Star. We learn new revelations about the film, including some surprising details of the role her father, Galen Erso (played by Mads Mikkelsen) plays. We get a closer look at Galen in this trailer. No longer does Jyn just appear to be a rebel selected purely for skills. This is personal. We also get new and clearer footage of Darth Vader.
The standalone film is set before the events of A New Hope. There's a lot of amazing action-packed footage in this trailer that I can't wait to see unfold. Watch the trailer here:
Directed by Gareth Edwards, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story also stars Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, and Diego Luna. It will hit theaters on Dec. 16, 2016.
