Final Fantasy XV Screenshots Show Off New Weapons and Details

Noctis and the gang may each have their own specialty weapons in Final Fantasy XV. But developer Square Enix seems bent on showcasing a lot of available weapons for the players to go trigger-happy with.

In a new set of screenshots from Famitsu (via Siliconera), they zoom in on some details related to the weapons, such as the ability to switch weapons in real-time.

It's already confirmed that Noctis can go into sniping mode. But Prompto may be playing a bigger role when it comes to defeating enemies from a long range, as he will be specializing in these particular weapons.

The machinery from Final Fantasy VI will also be making its way into Square Enix's latest title. They will bring a new level of attack, but there's a trade-off of having to get the hang of maneuvering these weapons.

Famitsu also revealed three kinds of attacks. There's the Attract Wave, which hits the enemies in the same way a shock wave would. The Special attack version will pull enemies in together so they can be hit by a one-shot attack.

Finally, there's the Circular Saw special attack, where Noctis can wield a circular spinning blade that will cut through enemies. This seems a little too gory slasher-esque for my taste.

Fans who are looking forward to sampling the game can look forward to EGX 2016. What's more, that's not the only game available on the show floor.

According to Invision Community, Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age and World of Final Fantasy will also be playable at the event. So if you're in the area from Sept. 22 to 25, make sure to check out EGX 2016 in Birmingham.

Final Fantasy XV will be out on Nov. 29 on the PS4 and Xbox One.
