Final Fantasy XV on PC is Still Possible, But Will Take a While

Final Fantasy XV has been one of the most anticipated games of the year. However, it's currently limited to new-gen console players once it's launched.

Even though there have not been any definitive announcements on a PC version, a new interview with game director Hajime Tabata hinted that a PC port has not yet been pushed aside.

In a Spanish interview (translated by WCCFTech), Tabata stated that it will take quite a bit of time to get it out there.

"Not talking about something real, just an idea, if we worked on a PC version what I have very clear is that we would work to provide a better version of what we have now on consoles. We could say that something like this would take us more than a year. We should work to adapt the engine, which is very laborious and from there to develop its course."

And it should not be forgotten that the team is also looking to provide continued support for the console version of Final Fantasy XV once it is launched. The game has already been confirmed to have support on the PS4 Pro as well as on the Xbox One HDR. This only means that the team will still be busy even after the game is launched.

There's also a hint of support coming to the PlayStation VR, so that's another added work for the team. Hopefully, this will not push the idea of a PC launch too far in the future.

Final Fantasy XV will be out on the PS4 and Xbox One on Nov. 29.
