Final Fantasy XV North American Cover Art Has a Cool Surprise Inside

Square Enix has already unveiled the artwork for the cover of Final Fantasy XV. The final artwork, seen above, has actually undergone many changes, but it actually has a surprise inside.

In a new blog post, the developer goes a little deeper on what the cover actually portrays. Without giving a lot of spoilers, it was mentioned that the figures in the sky above the four heroes are actually crucial figures in Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV and Final Fantasy XV.

That's a pretty good clue, and an invite for fans to make sure to catch the CGI film. While the above image is the cover art, Square Enix will also allow players a choice. The reverse side of the cover art will have another version, seen below.

"As a global company, we wanted everyone—whether a hardcore fan or a newcomer to the franchise—to have a choice. On the reverse side of this coversheet we have printed the historically beautiful FF logo on a clean background. The choice is up to you!"

Square Enix will be present at the SDCC 2016 via the Square Enix Experience. Apart from its other games, Final Fantasy XV will also be there. Based on the tweets from the developer, it seems that Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV will also be part of the program in some way.

So, which side of the cover art will you be showing off on your shelves?

Final Fantasy XV will be out on the PS4 and Xbox One on Sept. 30.
