Final Fantasy XV Has a Crossover Weapon With Nier: Automata

Final Fantasy XV is such a big game, it seems that containing it within itself is almost impossible.

Now that the game is almost here, Square Enix has released a short 25-seconder video, which features the game's borrowed Engine Blade sword. Of course, Noctis' Engine Blade won't be operable by just anyone. It is specifically the character YoRHa No. 2 Type B from the Nier: Automata franchise.

As fans may have seen in demos, the Engine Blade looks very much like a piece of art made from the spare engine parts of a car. In the crossover, the Engine Blade will also mimic how it will be used by Noctis, meaning that the moves and damage that is dealt by the weapon mimics Final Fantasy XV's use of the weapon.

The partnership for the crossover weapon is due to the interest of both Square Enix and Platinum Games. And that means, since it is a partnership, fans can also expect the other way around kind of deal. That is, there may be a crossover item of sorts in Final Fantasy XV from Nier: Automata.

Check out the video below to see the crossover weapon in action.

Final Fantasy XV will be released on Nov. 29 on the PS4 and Xbox One. Nier: Automata fans will have to wait a little longer, as it will be released on Feb. 23, 2017 for Japanese audience.
