Final Fantasy XV Developers Discuss The Three Pillars of The Game's Story

In a featurette called 10 Years in the Making: The Three Pillars of Final Fantasy XV's Story, scenario writer Saori Itamuro told IGN that the three pillars of Final Fantasy XV's story are "the bond between father and son, the bond between friends, and the bond between heroine and the rest of the world." The game is conceptually in the realm of magical realism.

Itamuro said that they began by creating a timeline of Noctis' life, and then they determined which they could feasibly include in the game.

We also learned that Noctis and Luna are engaged to be wed, and that they've shared a special bond since they were children. She is described as a "strong female figure adored by the people of the world."

You can watch the commentary by director Hajime Tabata and Itamuro in IGN's video below:

Based on what they said, it sounds like Final Fantasy XV's story is pretty simple but it's grounded by well-developed characters who have bonds that people could relate to, and I'm excited to experience this epic once it hit stores this September.

Final Fantasy XV will be released for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One on September 30, 2016. You can read more info about the game here.
