Are you feeling a little festive and what to extend the feeling to Noctis in Final Fantasy XV? Now’s your chance, as Square Enix teases its upcoming Moogle Chocobo Carnival event.
In a new preview video, we get to see a glimpse of the carnival, and it’s really quite a break from all the drama and fighting in the main game. Seen below, the clip shows Noctis seemingly wandering into the carnival with no idea of what’s in store.
“For a limited time, discover fun carnival games in beautiful Altissia from Final Fantasy XV! Take the challenge against your friends in a Chocobo race, skilled shooting challenges, and indulge in festive treats!”
Amid upbeat music, we see him change from the rather gloomy and dark outfit for battle and into a festively designed shirt and cap—yes, a party/carnival cap.
He proceeds to ride a gondola with an adorable Chocobo at the helm. There’s a Square Enix Café, though we only get to see two dishes served. The first is a Chocobo pie and a Moogle blueberry shortcake, both of which come with a cup of artfully designed coffee.
A carnie challenges Noctis on what he can do with a shooting game (he’s pretty good), there’s also Chocobo riding around the park, and a little awkward dance for Noctis, a Chocobo, a Moogle, and another creature. Oddly enough, you can also catch fish and warp while in the carnival.
All in all, it looks like a relaxing event for our hero. The Final Fantasy XV Moogle Chocobo Carnival event will launch on Jan. 23, 8 pm EST in North America and Jan. 24 in Europe. It will also come with aforementioned improvements that involve Prompto’s camera.
