Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood Released, New Items Detailed


The much-awaited Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood is finally out, and with that comes a bevy of new features that makes this expansion as beefy as they come.

In a press release, Square Enix confirmed a couple of key features, as well as the fact that players can do cross-platform play on the PS4, PC, and Mac for the game.

"Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood continues the story of the Warrior of Light in his quest to liberate Ala Mhigo, a vast land conquered by the Garleans twenty years ago. Players will also be able to depart from the shores of Eorzea for the very first time, traveling to the Far Eastern lands of Doma and Kugane as they fight to liberate those lands oppressed by the Empire."

The following are the additional items and features you can expect of the expansion:

The Samurai and Red Mage jobs will be added to expand the fighting styles available in the game. The Samurai can learn the art of Sen while the Red Mage can unleash hybrid magic and melee combos.
The level cap for jobs and will be increased by 10, as this is necessary to defeat enemies in Garlean.
The underwater feature will let players swim and dive in the waters of Eorzea or journey deeper into the depths.
Check out the ancient Ananta, which is an all-female tribe or the Kojin, which are skilled traders underwater.
Check out the Fourth Residential District Shirogane, which is now open via the port of Kugane.
The game will now have a new and improved battle system. What's more, the change in jobs will also bring PvP-exclusive counterparts so that players can also customize the skillsets that they will bring to the battles.
Finally, there will be an expanded item inventory, new gear, and more crafting recipes.

The update will also bring some patches that will bring the high-level raid and alliance raid. The former is essentially the return of the Omega raid, while the latter is a raid care of Yasumi Matsuno (Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy Tactics) and Keita Amemiya (Onimusha 2 and Shin Megami Tensei IV).
