Final Fantasy VII Remake Adds New Story Moments in Iconic Location

Final Fantasy VII Remake might just tell the story of Cloud's time in Midgar but it will also have a number of new story elements that will supposedly make us feel for the supporting characters. Square Enix hasn't really updated fans on what kind of new story elements we'd see, though the trailers did show us the smoke monster from Lost will be haunting Aerith and AVALANCHE.

Thanks to an announcement from Square Enix, we now know one of the newer plot elements that take place in a classic Final Fantasy VII location; The Train Graveyard. While fans could find a few items in this place before, the remake will expand on this and actually add some new cutscenes featuring Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith. We can assume that this takes place post-mansion exploits, which should be fun.

Here's Square Enix's official explanation for the new story, though they didn't give every juicy detail here:

The Train Graveyard is a perfect example of this. Originally used during the construction of Midgar, this area has since become a junkyard for old and abandoned trains. Strong winds make the rusting carriages creak and groan, and odd high-pitched sounds echo over the area. You may remember this location from the original Final Fantasy VII. In that game, there was no dialogue here, but in Final Fantasy VII Remake, characters will talk to each other as they explore the maze of wreckage.

It's good to know that Final Fantasy VII Remake is trying to spice things up and Square Enix will likely reveal even more details soon. Hopefully, the game feels long since Midgar was barely a chapter in the original game, despite all of the important events that happened there.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming to PS4 on March 3, 2020.
