Fantastic Beasts Sequel Will Take The Story in "A Whole New Direction"

J.K. Rowling already finished writing the script for Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, and it seems that David Yates will continue to helm the Harry Potter ciematic universe. During an interview with EW, Yates shared some hints on what we can expect from Fantastic Beasts 2.

"We've seen the script for Part 2, for the second movie, which takes the story in a whole new direction – as you should, you don't want to repeat yourself. The second movie introduces new characters as she builds this part of the Harry Potter universe further. It's a very interesting development from where we start out. The work is pouring out of her."

The sequel is expected to be release on November 16, 2018, and the third film wrappign up the trilogy will release on November 20, 2020. I wishfully believe that they're setting up the universe for a new Harry Potter trilogy after 2020, just as how the Star Wars franchise was revived years after George Lucas' prequel trilogy.

We still don't know exactly what direction that would take since the first film hasn't been released yet. It will be out in theaters on November 18, 2016.
