Fans Reacting To 'Phantom Menace' in 1999 Will Keep Your 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Expectations in Check

Most fans think that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be much better than George Lucas' prequels, but what if it becomes the next Phantom Menace?

I remember falling in line for the film and seeing people being so hyped after seeing it. I thought it was good back then, but I was so young and naive that I didn't realize how terrible it was compared to the original trilogy. 

Funny Local News Bloopers compiled several interview footage from 1999 right before and after Star Wars fans saw The Phantom Menace for the first time. The positive reviews far outnumber the negative ones. A lot of their comments sound are ridiculous. A fan even said that it's better than Return of the Jedi, and another fan said that it's going to be the next Wonder of the World! (Facepalm!). We also see a Lucy Liu and Shaquille O'Neill praise the film, but at least one guy has a good taste of movies. Watch their reactions below:
