Alita: Battle Angel was a movie that plenty of fans loved, even though it didn't make a ton of money. This has fans worried that a sequel won't be happening, which is a shame since this is actually a pretty solid movie, especially since you don't get a lot of good anime adaptations. It seems like the support for this film has more fans than we thought since a plane demanding a Battle Angel sequel was spotted flying over Hollywood.
The fact that fans would pay for an airplane just to show their love for an Alita: Battle Angel sequel is amazing. While I doubt that this love would get studios interested in a sequel, especially since James Cameron is really busy with his Avatar sequels right now, fan demand might convince someone out there to give this possible franchise a shot.
Considering how the movie does have a number of fans and is considered a "good" anime movie by most people, it really would be a shame if they didn't make a sequel. It's not fair but people speak with their money and they didn't talk it up enough for this movie to get a follow-up.
Fans can get Alita: Battle Angel right now on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital services. There are some rumors that a sequel could end up appearing in some sort of streaming service but we'll have to wait and see if that happens.
