Ewan McGregor Would Be Happy To Return As Obi-Wan Kenobi

Despite complaints about how Anakin Skywalker was portrayed in the prequel series, everyone basically praises Ewan McGregor in his portrayal as a younger Obi-Wan Kenobi. Fans have been aware of the possibility of an Obi-Wan spin-off movie down the line, and it looks like Ewan McGregor is still on board if that project ever happens.

In an interview with Business Insider, McGregor said, "Listen, I have been asked about it a lot, to the point where it looks a bit like I'm sort of touting for work… I've been very open to say I'd be happy to do it, if they want to do it."

Some fans may think that McGregor's last portrayal of Obi-Wan was in "Revenge of the Sith" back in 2005, but McGregor actually lent his voice as Kenobi in Rey's Force vision in Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015. Seeing as he's still connected to the franchise, I would love to see his Kenobi coming back in an anthology movie.

At 45-years-old, it would be best if Lucasfilm got started on their Obi-Wan project while McGregor is still limber; Alec Guinness, who originally played Obi-Wan in Star Wars, was 63 when he played the role. Then again, Robert Downey Jr. is 51, and he can still dish out some action scenes with The Avengers franchise.

No official release date or announcement has been made for an Obi-Wan Kenobi spin-off, but fans can be rest-assured that Ewan McGregor is still willing to return.
